Trial VIII's Saturday 8th December 11:30am Dorney Lake
Head Coach's Report
The season has progressed well thus far. We have tried to cultivate a culture of performance and enjoyment. We have a strong student committee that has ensured the program has progressed from the last few seasons. With the addition of a new coxless four we can now do more matched work and race in equal small boats. This has resulted in some good performances in the early season. We entered two boats in the champ 4- at Fours Head and at Brit Champs. At the Fours Head we were 4th and 5th in the academic champ 4- behind Isis, Goldie and Imperial and 13th and 15th overall out of the 4s.
We are working more closely with Filipe Salbany, the OUBC physiologist. Thus far this has shown some really positive results.
The squad is excited about the prospect of racing the championship course on the Tideway. We have had a few sessions there to start getting familiar with the course. We will be back in London next weekend in preparation for Trial Eights on the 8thDecember. This is a good opportunity to create some internal competition and race focus.
We are finalizing the dates for some fixtures on the course early next year against Imperial College, Quintin BC and Isis.
With the help from the Steering Committee, OMAs, and OURA and the Topolski fund we are improving the club and the results are starting to show the progress.

Four's Head 2018
We had some great results with our two Champ 4-'s separated by only 3 seconds over the 6.8km race course, finishing 4th and 5th in their category.
OULRC at GB Trials
Two of our athletes, Doug and Nick, travelled to Boston, Lincolnshire to compete at the first assessment of Great Britain Rowing Team U23/Senior Trials.
They produced great 2km scores on the ergometer followed by a tough 5km race in singles.
